I have a great admiration for the wonderful service supplied by Home Care providers but after evaluating my own fathers situation, I saw a need for people to aid adults to continue their creative interests, if they are unable to access local activities and amenities.
At 'the-arty’ I aim to provide adults with the opportunity to explore activities such as watercolour painting, lino print, wet felting and needle work or to continue years of creativity with support in the relaxed atmosphere of your own home or residence.
I offer individual and group workshops throughout the year, such as Easter clay ornament decoration, lino printed Christmas cards and wrapping paper.
Other activities available are an introduction to landscape watercolour, acrylic painting, lino printing, observational drawing, needlework such as appliqué, cross stitch and wet felting.
Please contact me to discuss the possibility of a more personalised activity of interest to you, related to art.
Based in the beautiful West Devon town of Tavistock, I cover the surrounding areas shown in the map.

I was born and raised in West Yorkshire, surrounded by the historic woollen mills. These early years in a textile-focused environment nurtured a passion for fabric, design and manufacture.
Inspired, I studied Fashion and went onto work as a Designer and pattern-cutter for numerous years in London.
On returning to my husband’s home county in Devon. I adapted my artistic attributes to working with primary schools, supporting children, tailoring activities to their learning needs and instilling my enthusiasm for art and design.
I currently live in Tavistock with my family and a fur ball of energy.
Stimulated by the lovely Devon coastline and constant changing character of the moors surrounding us, I continue to explore my love of art.
I understand that some individuals may be anxious to have me in their home. I can assure them I am CRB certificated, and a mature lady with a history of teaching in schools. I will respect their wishes and boundaries .
Please contact to arrange an initial consultation with a family member to discuss any matters of concern.
